In Stand By III, a seated figure turns to one side while holding a hand near the face. A bag placed nearby introduces an everyday reference and reinforces the sense of transit or waiting.
Set against an almost empty field, the figure seems caught between one action and the next. Werthein builds the scene through gesture, posture, and distance, allowing the white space to operate as both setting and pause.
