Two vertical bands occupy the image, directing attention toward minute variations in tone and texture. The surface seems to emerge from an almost imperceptible gradation, making each field hover between presence and disappearance.
The work uses an extreme economy of means and turns subtle shifts in density into the core of the visual experience. The eye lingers on a quiet image sustained by repetition and the pulse of gray.
