Description
In Recuerdo del futuro, Gálvez works with an image of strong chromatic intensity, where the head of a blue horse emerges against a red background crossed by greens, geometric blocks and angular forms. The animal figure remains recognizable, yet it is interrupted by an almost digital logic made of modules, cuts and visual displacements.
The work condenses a key tension in the artist’s practice: the coexistence of pictorial observation and graphic construction. The horse seems to come from an older memory, while the structure around it evokes an image that has been intervened, cut or coded. Memory and future overlap on the same surface, as if painting could recover an image while also showing its transformation.
