In El filo, Gálvez concentrates the image around the idea of the cut. The work can be read through one of the central tensions in his practice: painting as montage, as a divided, intervened surface shaped by visible decisions. The edge does not refer only to a sharp form or a physical threat, but also to the limit between one image and another, between narrative and graphic construction, between scene and sign.
The work relates to the way Gálvez builds his recent paintings: fragments interrupt one another, fields of color reorganize the gaze, and the composition refuses to hide its own procedure. Within that logic, the painting turns the cut into a language. The image becomes a space of friction, where each element seems close to separating while still holding the overall structure together.
