In En un fuego descubrí un paisaje, Juan Gálvez organizes the painting as a constellation of images shaped by contrast and tension. A knife, a landscape, a radial burst, a human figure, fish, fire, sky and thorns coexist within a compartmentalized structure, where each fragment seems to belong to a different world and, at the same time, to a shared visual logic.
The work proposes an open, almost associative reading. Fire appears not only as a motif, but as a principle of transformation: it illuminates, destroys, reveals and connects images that might otherwise remain isolated. Through this montage, Gálvez pushes painting into a territory between narrative, symbol and graphic construction, making visible the trick that holds apparently unrelated elements together.
