Description
In Perdido en tus ausencias, Estienne centers the composition on a nocturnal figure whose face seems suspended within a field of light. The image preserves the structure of a portrait, but identity remains inaccessible: the body appears, the presence insists, yet the features dissolve before becoming fully recognizable.
The work turns absence into pictorial matter. The dark background, deep greens and veiled face construct an image marked by loss, distance and the desire for apparition. Rather than fixing an identity, Estienne paints the unstable moment in which a figure seems to return from memory, still incomplete, still fragile.
