Description
In Orzuelo, the body is condensed into a horizontal form resembling an inflamed, closed, or wounded eye. The figure nearly disappears, giving way to an enlarged and ambiguous anatomy that shifts between organ, landscape, and stain.
Dark violets, earth tones, and red drips turn the surface into an area of pressure. The work directs the gaze toward what is usually uncomfortable to see, transforming a minor bodily condition into a monumental presence.
