In Sylvette au Fauteil, Pablo Picasso revisits the figure of Sylvette David, central to a series initiated in 1954 that marked a period of great formal freedom in his work. In this 1960 version, the figure appears in profile, constructed through firm lines and a structural synthesis that reduces the body to its essence.
The image moves between figuration and abstraction, where graphic gesture prevails over volume and anatomy becomes sign. The technique, linked to his late graphic production, reinforces the idea of variation and series.
