Description
In Retrato, Saracini focuses the image on a face crossed by light, shadow and areas of color that disturb the stability of the figure. The closed eyes, the palette of greens, yellows, blues and reds, and the dark density of the background create an introspective presence, almost held in a moment of inner suspension.
The work approaches portraiture through an emotional rather than descriptive sensitivity. It is not only about fixing an appearance, but about constructing a state. The figure emerges through layers of paint, veils and contrasts, as if the image were made of perception, memory and atmosphere. Through that tension, Saracini turns the face into an intimate scene.
