Preliminary Project for a Black Monochrome in Parentheses - Horacio Zabala, 2013

Description

Horacio Zabala

Preliminary Project for a Black Monochrome in Parentheses, 2013

-

In this work, a black rectangle is enclosed between two parentheses and within a structure drawn like a project diagram. The monochrome ceases to be an autonomous surface and becomes both a sign and an object of analysis.

Zabala crosses technical drawing, language, and conceptual tradition in a precise image where the act of framing also becomes a mode of thought.
