Horacio Zabala
Preliminary Project for a Yellow Monochrome in Parentheses, 2013
-
A yellow rectangle is contained between two large black parentheses and a linear structure resembling a technical drawing. The work combines the language of drafting with a linguistic sign and the modern tradition of the monochrome.
Zabala brings image, writing, and systems of representation into relation, turning an elementary form into a reflection on framing, meaning, and visual construction.
