Jorge Meijide
Oh!, 2016
-
The image combines a central figure with an extreme expression, several characters, and urban architecture in the background. Black and white, graphic synthesis, and visual quotation create a strongly satirical and expressionistic scene.
Meijide brings recognizable references into a new composition, using appropriation and montage to shift the meaning of the images.
