Two figures guard the threshold. In “Guardianes,” Lucía E. López imagines these creatures as sentinels of an in-between world: half bird, half enigma. Perched on a hollow trunk—nest, altar, or shelter—they inhabit that edge where the animal becomes fable and the familiar turns strange.
