Jazmín Puyén develops a practice in which domestic space becomes a stage for affective and symbolic tensions. Her work explores the home as an ambivalent territory—both refuge and constraint, shelter and confinement. Through images grounded in the observation of everyday life, she constructs scenes where intimacy acquires emotional density, revealing the frictions between public and private spheres, belonging and vulnerability.
Trained at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes, where she completed both a BA and a Teaching Degree in Visual Arts, Puyén works across multiple media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, object-making, installation, and video. Her academic background is complemented by workshops and seminars in various disciplines, such as printmaking, painting, and performance, resulting in an open and exploratory visual language.
Her work is structured around an ongoing investigation of inhabited spaces and the traces embedded within them. The house appears as a body that accumulates experiences, emotions, and memories, where objects, surfaces, and atmospheres construct a silent narrative. In this sense, her work does not merely depict interiors but activates them as sensitive devices through which subjective states and latent conflicts are projected.
She has participated in salons and exhibitions in Argentina and internationally, including the National Salon Prilidiano Pueyrredón and group shows in Mexico, as well as multiple editions of the Provincial Young Art Salon and the Universidad Nacional de las Artes Art Festival. She currently works as both a visual artist and educator, developing a practice centered on the material and conceptual exploration of dwelling.
