Alejandro Avakian develops a painterly practice in which matter becomes sensitive energy and gesture functions as a form of knowledge. Born in Buenos Aires in 1959, Avakian studied at the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón, where he graduated as a Professor of Painting, later complementing his development through private studios dedicated to drawing and painting. His Armenian cultural heritage forms a significant background to his production, visible in a sensibility shaped by memory, identity, and a persistent search for transcendence. He has exhibited his work in galleries and institutions in Argentina and abroad, participating in fairs such as arteBA and in exhibitions in cities such as New York, Barcelona, and Mérida.
